The IGERT Nanomedicine Science and Technology Program at Northeastern University is looking for upper-level Graduate and Undergraduate applicants with a strong academic record and keen desire to do interdisciplinary research in the area of Nanomedicine.

Eligibility

  • You must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident to apply to the IGERT Nanomedicine Program.
  • You must currently be enrolled in either a Graduate or Undergraduate program at Northeastern University.
  • You must have an Advisor (undergraduates should contact Rita Kaderian).

Deadlines

Spring Applicants: Applications will be accepted from October 1 - November 30.
Fall Applicants: Applications will be accepted from May 1 - July 31.

To Apply to the IGERT Nanomedicine Ph.D Program

For Northeastern University PhD Students
Ph.D Students currently enrolled in a doctoral program in one of the following departments, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, may apply to the IGERT PhD program.

PhD applicants should include the following 6 items in their application package:

  1. Filled out Application which may be downloaded from this site,
  2. Resume,
  3. Most recent Transcripts (unofficial transcripts will be accepted),
  4. Letter of Recommendation from current advisor,
  5. Research summary and proposal of Nanomedicine related project,
  6. Xerox copy of United States passport or Permanent Residency card.

For Northeastern University Undergraduate and Masters Students
Undergraduate and Masters students looking to apply to the IGERT Associate program should send resume, most recent transcripts (which must include GPA), and 1 page proposal detailing research interests and summary of previous research, if applicable. All IGERT Associates must have a project and project advisor. Before applying it is strongly recommended that students seek an advisor who will provide you with a nanomedicine project if you are accepted into the program. For Students not enrolled at Northeastern University
Students interested in applying to the IGERT Nanomedicine Program must first be accepted into one of the Northeastern University participating departments (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical and Industrial Engineering) according to the regular guidelines of that department. Accepted students may then apply separately to the IGERT Program. Students should indicate in their departmental application letters that they are interested in joining the IGERT program. Alongside departmental applications, students should send a resume, most recent transcripts and 1 page proposal detailing interest in the IGERT interdisciplinary program to Rita Kaderian the address below. Please note that acceptance into a Northeastern University program does not guarantee acceptance into the IGERT Nanomedicine Program.
